DESCRIPTION:Free. No registration required. \nGuided Tour – 1:00 pm\nDrop-in Activity – all-day \nThe Icon Museum and Study Center is excited to offer free admission and family-friendly programs on Thursdays during school vacation. Get ready to explore the Museum’s collections\, spark creativity\, and discover a welcoming learning environment for all ages! Join us for activities in the galleries\, auditorium\, or outside on the terrace (if the weather is nice). \nEach Thursday will feature a new theme inspired by the Museum’s collection or special exhibitions. The Museum will offer free admission all day\, with drop-in self-guided tours and crafts available. Docent and Staff-led activities will be scheduled starting at 1:00 pm. \nGuided Tour: What materials were used to create the vivid and long-lasting colors seen in the icons? Why do artists choose certain colors\, and what do they make us feel? \nDrop-in Activity: Learn about the symbolic meaning of color in art and use crayons\, colored pencils\, and paint to create your own work of art that tells a story or shows a feeling using colors. \n  \nThis program is supported by grants from the Mass Cultural Council and the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. \n
